As a program of Faith Acts Now, the Hawaii Warriors Football Network is dedicated to fostering personal growth, mentorship, and sportsmanship through the power of football, while also supporting the educational, nutritional, and social well-being of the youth we serve.

At Faith Acts Now, we are deeply grateful for the kindness and generosity shown by our donors. Your gifts directly support our mission to strengthen communities, uplift youth, and provide resources for education, sports, mentorship, food and nutrition, and financial literacy. Every donation is an investment in the future of those we serve, and we are humbled by your commitment to our cause.

We value transparency and responsibility in all financial matters. It is our priority to ensure that all gifts are handled in a way that aligns with both legal requirements and the best interests of our mission. The policy below governs the acceptance of gifts to Faith Acts Now and reflects our dedication to integrity, stewardship, and the responsible use of charitable resources.

Purpose of the Policy

This policy provides guidelines for the acceptance of gifts to Faith Acts Now, ensuring that all donations are used effectively to further our mission. It is intended to offer guidance to prospective donors regarding the types of gifts we are able to accept and the process for making such contributions. We strongly encourage all donors to consult their personal legal and financial advisors to ensure they fully understand the tax and estate planning implications of their gifts.

Gift Review Committee

To ensure that all donations align with our mission and organizational capacity, the Gift Review Committee will review any gifts that do not comply with the parameters set forth in this policy. Use of Legal Counsel

Where necessary, Faith Acts Now will seek the counsel of legal professionals to review gifts that involve complex legal matters or potential liabilities. This may include but is not limited to:

– Documents naming Faith Acts Now as trustee or requiring fiduciary duties
– Gifts that impose financial or other obligations on the organization

Restrictions on Gifts

While we are grateful for every contribution, there are certain types of gifts that Faith Acts Now cannot accept due to legal, financial, or operational considerations. Specifically, we will not accept gifts that:

– Violate our corporate charter or compromise our status as a 501(c)(3) organization
– Are too difficult or costly to administer in relation to their value

Types of Gifts We Generally Accept

We welcome cash gifts in any form, including checks, money orders, credit cards, and online donations. Cash donations are the most flexible and easiest to process, ensuring that your support is immediately directed toward our mission.

2. Marketable Securities
We accept gifts of publicly traded securities, which can be transferred electronically to an account at one of our brokerage partners or delivered physically with appropriate documentation. The sale of these securities will generally occur promptly unless directed otherwise by the Board of Directors.

3. Bequests and Beneficiary Designations
Faith Acts Now is grateful for gifts made through bequests or beneficiary designations under revocable trusts, life insurance policies, commercial annuities, or retirement plans. These types of gifts provide lasting support to our mission, and we encourage thoughtful planning in this regard.

Gifts Accepted Subject to Review

Some types of gifts may require further review before acceptance to ensure that they align with our organizational goals and do not impose undue financial or operational challenges. These may include, but are not limited to:

1. Tangible Personal Property
We will review gifts of tangible personal property, such as artwork or collectibles, to determine their alignment with our mission, their marketability, and the potential carrying costs involved.

2. Life Insurance
Faith Acts Now will accept life insurance gifts where we are named both the beneficiary and the irrevocable owner of the policy. Donors must also agree to pay any future premiums due on the policy.

3. Real Estate
Gifts of real estate will undergo review to determine their suitability for the organization’s use or whether they can be readily liquidated. An initial environmental review may be conducted for non-residential properties, with further evaluations to ensure there are no significant liabilities or encumbrances.

Gift Acknowledgement

Faith Acts Now is committed to acknowledging every gift in a manner consistent with IRS requirements, ensuring that each donor receives the proper documentation for tax purposes. Each donor is encouraged to consult with their personal tax advisor to ensure they comply with any necessary steps to claim a charitable deduction.
